TAMTAŞ is a packaging machine manufacturer that has been active in the packaging industry since 1971 and has designed and built its own packaging machines since 1975. At its facility in İkitelli, Istanbul, it produces machines for every stage of the packaging line, from vertical form fill seal machines and doypack machines to filling, case packing and palletising systems.

More than half a century of packaging machinery

TAMTAŞ started out in 1971 in packaging machinery and materials. After importing machinery and equipment in its early years, the company began manufacturing its own packaging machines in 1975, and has built them under the "TAM TAŞ" brand ever since.

From Mecidiyeköy to İkitelli

Production took place in Mecidiyeköy, Istanbul, from 1975 to 1983. In 1983 the company moved to an 8,000 m² facility in Merter, where it manufactured for three decades. Since 2014, production has continued at the modern facility built in İkitelli, Istanbul, where mechanical design, assembly and testing take place under one roof.

Which packaging machines does TAMTAŞ build?

The range covers every stage from product infeed to palletising:

• Vertical form fill seal machine (VFFS): forms pillow, gusseted and quad-seal bags from roll film, then fills and seals them.
• Doypack machine (HFFS): fills and seals stand-up doypack pouches.
• Jar and tin filling machine: designed to fill and close jars, containers and tins.
• Case packing machine: places packs into cartons in the required pattern.
• Baling and shrink wrapping machine: groups packs into bales or wraps them in shrink film.
• Palletising system: stacks cases on pallets in the required pattern.

2026 and beyond: the move to sustainable packaging

The EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR, 2025/40) has applied since 12 August 2026. From 2030, all packaging placed on the EU market must be recyclable, which puts recyclable packaging materials on the agenda of manufacturers exporting to Europe. Because different film structures can require different sealing temperatures and pressures, a product test with the intended packaging material is worthwhile before investing in a new machine.
